NGC: Boyhood Dreams

The Nedbank Golf Challenge is boyhood dream for many of South Africa’s golfing prospects.

Some recognisable names in the world of golf will have tee off at the Gary Player Country Club for the historic 40th edition of the Nedbank Golf Challenge this week.

South African golfer George Coetzee will be amongst the 66 that will battle it out to win Africa’s Major.

“I remember watching Nick Price and Tiger Woods battle it out, and I actually got Price’s ball with his name on it.”

Coetzee was recalling his first visit to the Nedbank Golf Challenge in 1998, the year superstar Tiger Woods teed it up at Sun City and was beaten in a playoff for the title by Zimbabwe legend Nick Price.

He will walk into this week’s tournament as one of the in-form golfers following his victory in last week’s South African PGA Championship at St. Francis Links.

Even a BMX and skateboarding extravaganza are what fans can look forward to in a bumper line-up of entertainment and activations at this year’s showpiece from 10-13 November.
