Social media is going crazy, after spotting Colombia legends Rene Higuita and Carlos Valderrama celebrating Juan Cuadrado’s goal in their nation’s 3-0 win over Poland at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Not many would argue that Higuita and Valderrama’s football talents, but what set them apart was their colourful nature as footballers.
So it was not a surprise when social media world went crazy, when the two appeared together on TV screens in the stands at the Kazan Arena, looking a little older but with the hairstyles they had as players.
Cuadrado scored the third goal, which basically put the match to bed, after Yerry Mina had opened the scoring in the first half with Radamel Falcao netting the second.
Higuita, a former goalkeeper who enjoyed dribbling through the opposition as much as making saves, including the famous Scorpion Kick against England at Wembley Stadium. Check it out on YouTube.
Meanwhile, Valderrama, was a flamboyant midfielder and captain of the Colombia national team with a blonde afro.
